Since September 2020, LINGEA has been involved in the fight against cybercrime within the European AIDA project. The goal of this project is data analysis and the development of tools using the latest methods of machine learning as well as predictive and visual analytics to fight criminal activities. AIDA focuses on cybercrime and terrorism – the resulting system shall integrate tools for efficient mining and analysis of big data specific for security forces and law enforcement agencies. Lingea was invited to participate in the project as a machine translation specialist providing machine translation between many world languages including Arabic or Turkish.

The project has received funding from the EU under the Horizon 2020 program. Participating in the project research, there are 21 organizations from 11 countries, such as: Europol, University College Dublin, The Ministry of the Interior of Spain, The Ministry of Justice of Portugal and other significant institutions. The coordinator of the project is Engineering Ingegneria Informatica S.p.A. from Italy. Lingea is the only company from Central and Eastern Europe participating in this project.
